Orange Fuel Grove

 

The Orange (Fuel) Grove was an exhibition garden highlighting the sustainable use of waste orange pulp to create bio-fuel. The Reckless Orchard team decamped to Northern Portugal for three weeks to help the Festival construction team create the complex forms.  Constructed from metal and twenty kilometres of twine the sculptures hinted at the shapes of peel and pipes. Semi-mature orange trees, local willow, granite and a groundflora of native wildflowers provided echoes of the Portuguese landscape.  Music composed by John Packer completed the effect.
