Almond Park, Romania

 

Reckless Orchard was asked to advise on this new park in Constanta, on Romania's Black Sea coast.  The competition-winning design was submitted by local architectural students but required an experienced landscape hand to see the project through to fruition.  A beautiful old almond orchard was retained and renovated to give a shady and striking feature.  Play and sports facilities were constructed along with water features and pavilions.  The planting has to withstand temperatures of 40 degrees centigrade in the summer and minus 25 degrees in the winter..
