Home Zone, Bristol

 

Reckless Orchard was delighted to be commissioned by Barratt Homes to design the streets and public spaces for their new housing development at Marissal Road in Bristol.  Based on the home zone principles of slowing traffic and the use of shared spaces, the design included areas of both hard and soft landscape.  The focal point of the scheme was a central meeting, seating and play space.  This area incorporated an outdoor table-tennis table and a large communal pic-nic table, especially commissioned for the scheme.
